View Shakespeare's Will for free
Stratford residents are being given the chance to view Shakespeare’s will free of charge tomorrow (Friday) and learn about the historic document.
Anyone with a CV37 postcode can come along to the Shakespeare Centre on Henley Street between 6-7pm to take a look at the document and talk to in-house experts at the Birthplace Trust.
This is the first time the will has returned to Stratford in more than 400 years.
Dr Delia Garrett, Director of Cultural Engagement said: “We want to ensure that our local community are able to experience and enjoy this display of one of the most important original documents relating to William Shakespeare. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the will in Shakespeare’s hometown, where it was drafted 400 years ago, and we look forward to welcoming many Stratford residents on the evening.”
To attend the viewing, visitors must bring proof of address, such as a utility bill, and one non-CV37 resident per party may also attend.
