VIDEO: Watch army bomb disposal team deal with suspicious case

ARMY bomb disposal experts blew up a suitcase in Stratford-upon-Avon on Monday evening after a security alert in Henley Street.

The area where Windsor Street meets Henley Street was taped off while a small controlled explosion of a hand case was carried out following the discovery of an unattended item of baggage on a bench close to Shakespeare's Birthplace.

It’s thought the case contained souvenirs and clothes but did not hold any clues as to its owner. Before the controlled explosion people at premises at that end of Henley Street were told to leave at around 5.15pm and a cordon put up across to the Shakespeare Centre.
