VIDEO: Ghost wins the Kineton Primary ferret races

GHOST the ferret won the races recently held at Kineton Primary School as a fundraiser to benefit the Friends of Kineton Primary group.

The races, held on Saturday, 3rd February, included a jacket potato dinner and refreshments including Fursty Ferret ale.

Sophie Huddlestone, the chairperson of the Friends of Kineton Primary who organised the event, said: “It was an exciting evening. The children got to meet the ferrets, help name them and cuddle them too.”

The 16 ferrets used in the races were from Heart of England Ferret Association and Chase Ferret Rescue group. Ghost the ferret won the final race of the night bringing home a trophy to the family who sponsored him.

The event raised nearly £800, which will go towards the purchase of new playground equipment.

Mrs Huddlestone added: “Financially it was a winner too. Last year we were lucky to have a sponsor for the food and although we didn't this year we still managed to almost match the money raised, which is fantastic.”
