UPDATE: Young man who died in Wellesbourne crash is named
The 28-year-old man who died in a road accident on Sunday night has been named as Christopher Aston.
Police have issued an appeal for information after the silver Ford Focus he was driving left the road and collided with a tree in Newbold Road, between Wellesbourne and Newbold Pacey at around 10.30pm. Christopher was declared dead at the scene.
Ambulance staff and a doctor provided advanced clinical skills at the scene of a crash, in Newbold Road around 10.35pm.
The passenger, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and the MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found a car that had collided with a tree.
“Sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the driver and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
“Ambulance staff worked with firefighters to extricate the front seat passenger who had suffered potentially serious injuries.
“He was taken on blue lights to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire; the doctor and critical care paramedic travelled with the ambulance.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the car in moments leading up to the incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident 415 of 21 October 2018.
