THE village of Tysoe has been yarn bombed in Women’s Institute colours to mark the centenary anniversary of Tysoe WI.

Carried out by the branch’s small crafts group, a bicycle, 100th anniversary plaque on the village hall, school railings, church gates and a bench have all been adorned in the brightly-coloured yarn.

Jacqui Franklin, who is Tysoe WI’s president, for a third term, said: “It is an honour to be elected back on again for the centenary year. Months of planning and work has gone into the yarn bombing.”

The president explained that to celebrate the anniversary, an event has been arranged for each month of 2017. A children’s gnome hunt will be held on Wednesday 24th May, at 5.30pm.

A centenary church service will also be held at St Mary’s Church, in Tysoe, on Sunday 2nd July.
