Travellers leave Tiddington encampment

A group of travellers who set up camp in Tiddington on Monday have moved on.

The travellers, who set up an encampment on land at the Tiddington Home Guard Club, left the site this morning.

Prior to the group leaving, Stratford District Council said it was “mindful that the needs of the gypsy and traveller community are met, whilst at the same time respecting the concerns of the local community.”

The council said it would offer support where it could but as the encampment was on private land, ultimate responsibility lay with the landowner.
