Three-vehicle M40 crash
Two elderly casualties required hospital treatment following a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the M40 this morning.
The incident, close to the southbound junction with the M42, occurred at around 11.25am and involved a lorry and two Ford cars.
A man in his 80s suffered chest injuries while a woman, also in her 80s sustained cuts to her head.
The pair were taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire and their injuries are not thought to be serious.
Two other individuals were described as walking wounded but did not require hospital treatment.
Two ambulances and a paramedic area support vehicle attended the scene along with officers from Warwickshire police and the Highways Agency.
Two lanes were closed as a result of the incident with the Highways Agency re-opening both by 12.46pm.
