Swans cause traffic gridlock

Efforts to usher them off the road were unsuccessful and they were last seen casually making their way along Birmingham Road towards its junction with Arden Street, near to the old Intrum Justicia building.

Ian Richards, of Feel Good Therapies, took these pictures as they strolled across the traffic lights outside the new McDonalds at around 1.30pm.

He said: "I presume swans had come up from canal. It was funny as they didn't have a care in the world.

"Someone did try and usher them out the road but with no luck. Maybe building work has disturbed them?"
