Stratford Monopoly release date announced

A release date for Stratford’s Monopoly board has been set for 13 October.

The boards will hit shops worldwide at 10am following its official launch at the RSC.

So far games maker Winning Moves UK have only confirmed that the Stratford Herald, Shakespeare Hospice and the RSC will appear on the board.

The Stratford Herald will occupy the traditional Fleet Street square while the RSC will occupy a ‘prominent’ spot.

The company have also said there is a big surprise in store for the Old Kent Road square.

Earlier this year the Herald launched a campaign to encourage people to vote for Stratford to get its own Monopoly board after Winning Moves UK announced a shortlist of towns it was considering.

The town faced stiff competition from places such as Shrewsbury, Warwick, Leamington and Gloucester, but eventually won the race by just 1% of the overall vote.
