England's St George's flag is flying over Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall today as football fans across the district look forward to tonight's World Cup semi-final against Croatia.

There are just a few nerve-wracking hours to go before England's crucial World Cup semi-final this evening and the St George's flags are flying in Stratford.

The national team's first appearance in a semi-final since 1990 has brought renewed belief that maybe, just maybe football's coming home.

Although there will be no big screen showing the match on Stratford Recreation Ground, pubs are gearing up for a busy evening.

Stratford Town Council are showing their support today by flying the St George's flag from the Town Hall, while at Stratford School staff are channeling their inner Southgate by wearing waistcoats.

No-one should expect Croatia to be a walkover tonight, but should England reach the final do you have any plans for next Sunday? let us know news@stratford-herald.com.
