IT was standing room only last night (Monday) at a meeting of Henley residents who gathered to discuss concerns over the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Around 120 people were a public forum at the Memorial Hall after responding to a plea by The Joint Parish Council for Henley and Beaudesert to attend ‘the most important one for the town this decade.’

Parish Council Chair Cllr Peter Crathorne said: “The attendance was a clear statement that the people of Henley will defend its beautiful surroundings, heritage and special character by every means possible.”

Residents said some issues needed to be more strongly emphasised including the desire to strengthen parking control and the need for low cost housing.
