Spring turns wintry with snow and power cuts

In a slightly strange afternoon that saw gusts of snow and drops of temperature hit the region yesterday, a power cut added to a feeling of wintry discontentment.

The power cut affected 485 homes in Stretton-on-Fosse and Compton Scorpion from around tea time to just after 7.30pm.

Western Power said it was a temporary fault that had now been rectified.

According to the Met Office the cold snap is set to continue until the weekend when temperatures are forecast to pick up a little on Saturday.
