Six people - including children - taken to hospital after two-car collision in Stratford




SIX people – including two children – were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a two-car crash on Banbury Road, Stratford, on Saturday night (4th May).

Five ambulances, police cars and a fire engine were at the scene as the road was closed to traffic following the collision at about 7.40pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson told the Herald that people from both cars were taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.

“We were called to reports of an RTC on Banbury Road, Stratford, at around 7.40pm on Saturday (4th May),” they said. “Five ambulances, a paramedic officer and the air ambulance critical care car were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found two cars had been involved in a collision and there were six patients.

“Two men from the first car were treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Warwick Hospital for further treatment.

“A man, woman and two female children from the second car were treated for minor injuries before they were all conveyed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment.”

The collision happened close to the Rushbrook Road junction. Warwickshire Police closed Banbury Road from close to that junction, down to near the Tesco Express store.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police added: “At around 7.40pm on Saturday, 4th May, emergency services were called to a two-car collision on the Banbury Road.

“Two children and several adults were injured and transported to hospital by our colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service.”
