Severn Trent investigating odd tasting tap water

Severn Trent Water are investigating after residents raised concerns about a chemically taste in their tap water this week.

Several residents took to social media this week to complain about the taste of their tap water, some speculating that the strange taste and smell was caused by chlorine.

A spokesperson for Severn Trent said: “We’re aware that some customers in the Stratford-upon-Avon area have concerns about their water supply, however we’ve only received one complaint about water quality from that area.

“We want people to be confident about their water supply, and as people are worried, we’re completing a full investigation to see if there’s anything that could be affecting the water quality in the area.

“We carry out rigorous quality checks of our water every hour of every day to make sure it’s safe to drink and meets the high expectations that our customers have.

“None of our routine tests show any evidence that the water is unsafe to drink.”
