Renewed plea to find Jesse’s body
THE mother of a man who was murdered seven years ago has joined detectives in making a new appeal to find his body.
Jesse Richards was killed in a sustained and brutal attack over a drugs debt at a caravan park in Cleeve Prior on 31st July, 2009.
Five men were jailed in 2012 in connection with his death and were collectively sentenced to more than 50 years in prison, but the location of Jesse’s body has never been discovered, although police believe it is in Warwickshire.
The area around Chesterton Windmill was searched at the time.
Speaking on the anniversary, Jesse’s mum, Lucy Richards, said: “I speak to those people who have information but haven’t contacted police.
“If they could for one minute put themselves in my place they would know the heartache I am feeling and have felt for the last seven years.”
Superintendent Mark Loader, who led the investigation, added: “The investigation found evidence to suggest Jesse’s body was transported to an area in Warwickshire some time after his death.
"We know some individuals have information and are choosing not to come forward. I appeal to them to consider the pain Jesse’s family continue to suffer long after his death and ask them to re-consider contacting police.”
A £10,000 reward is still available and anyone with any information should contact police on 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
