Recycling rewards scheme launched
A scheme that rewards residents for recycling is being launched in Warwickshire.
The scheme, called 'I'm in to Win' will give residents the chance to win a host of prizes if they pledge to recycle all their food waste and actively participate in the kerbside collection food waste program.
To take part residents simply register at www.feedyourcaddy.co.uk and will have the chance to win monthly prizes including free leisure passes, experiences and days out as well as vouchers for local shops and restaurants.
The scheme has been particularly successful in Northamptonshire where residents have increased the amount of food waste recycled by 10%.
Councillor Chris Millar, Chair of the Northamptonshire Waste Partnership said “We are delighted that Warwickshire Waste Partnership have joined us in the “I’m In to Win” campaign to reward residents as they recycle their food waste. Since it began in Northamptonshire over 3,100 families have signed up and over 300 additional tonnes of food waste has been recycled.
"Some amazing, local prizes have also been won. This is a great example of two areas working together to achieve best value for residents and I wish Warwickshire every success with their campaign."
