THE first community proposals to run Stratford Artshouse have been submitted to the Town Trust as users begin to ramp up their efforts to save the venue.

The future of Stratford ArtsHouse is currently shrouded in uncertainty after Stratford Town Trust, which owns the building, and the operator, The Stratford ArtsHouse Trust, failed to come to an arrangement over funding.

Unless a suitable alternative operator can reach an agreement with the Town Trust, it is unclear what will happen to the venue beyond May 5th, when funding runs out.

Justin Williams, of the Town Trust, confirmed that two outline proposals have now been submitted which include some numbers and costings, but the organisation was offering more time for other interested parties in the community to also submit plans.

The Save Stratford ArtsHouse Campaign is also in the process of putting together its own proposal for the building.
