Police warning after card skimmer found in Wellesbourne

Police are warning residents to stay vigilant after a card skimming device was found on a cash machine in Wellesbourne.

The skimming machine, attached to a cash machine on Loxley Close, was discovered on Saturday 6th August just after 6pm.

PC Catherine Morgan from Wellesbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Please be vigilant when you use a cash machine, and if anything looks out of place such as ill-fitting components or missing panels, do not enter your card and inform the machine provider.

"Always cover the keypad when you enter your PIN number, and if your card gets stuck or is retained, contact your bank or card issuer immediately.

"Keep an eye on your bank balance and if you notice anything untoward, report it to your bank and police."

If you witnessed any suspicious behaviour near the cash machine or have any information, please call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident 253 of 6 August 2016.
