EIGHTY motorists who filmed or took pictures of the crash that caused traffic chaos on the M40 on Friday face criminal charges.

Warwickshire Police's Operational Policing Unit revealed it was preparing the mass summons on Twitter.

The OPU tweeted: "Over 80 summons being prepared this morning for drivers who were using/filming the collision site on the M40 yesterday on their phones."

During an exchange on Twitter, a officer for the OPU added that the charges related to drivers not being in control of their vehicles.
