In 2002, Mr Cambray was voted best trainee officer of the year, out of 100 other students across Warwickshire.

The then community beat bobby was honoured as Probationer of the Year by then Warwickshire Police Chief Constable John Burbeck.

In July 2015, at the earliest possible opportunity, and in liaison with the CPS, Mr Cambray was dismissed from the police force at a special case hearing chaired by the Chief Constable of Warwickshire Police, Martin Jelley, a decision that he has been trying to appeal.

Speaking after the guilty pleas, the officer who led the case Detective Inspector Vikki Reay said: "Throughout the investigation, our key concern has been the welfare, protection and

wellbeing of the children involved".

"Ensuring that those who commit crimes are brought to justice is our overriding focus, second only to preventing crime from happening in the first place."
