Police bid to put brakes on speeding drivers

DRIVERS are ignoring speed limits in the centre of Wellesbourne and Kineton, police have said. Checks were carried out in Kineton Road into Wellesbourne and Warwick Road in and out of Kineton, with seven drivers clocked going over 30mph, one’s speed was recorded at 45mph.

The A429 through Charlecote was also monitored, but no one was caught speeding during the checks that were carried out on Monday, 1st August.

PC Catherine Morgan, of Warwickshire Police's Wellesbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "The team appreciated the supportive comments made by several local residents who came to speak to us."
