Police arrest suspects within 35 minutes of a car being stolen from a Stratford home




FOUR men and a boy have been charged with burglary after a home in Stratford was broken into and a car stolen.

Warwickshire Police arrested two suspects within 35 minutes of receiving the report of the burglary in which a Seat Leon was stolen after the keys were taken from the home.

It was reported at 3.16am on Thursday (1st February). By 3.50am officers had spotted a vehicle believed to have been involved in the burglary and stopped it on the M42.

Two men were arrested.

A short time later, officers from West Midlands Police spotted the stolen car.

It fled from the police but was stopped in Olton, Birmingham, after the vehicle’s tyres were damaged by a stinger.

Another three men were arrested.

Warwickshire Police said all five appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Friday and will next appear at Warwick Crown Court on 1st March.

Three - Anthony Bartram, 31, of Mobs Moat Road, Solihull, Liam Jones, 18, of Selcroft Avenue, Birmingham, and Archie Evans, 19, of Hollyhock Road, Birmingham – have been charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

Josh Wagstaff, 22, of Blackberry Lane, Stratford was charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of cannabis.

Finally, a 16-year-old boy form Birmingham, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with burglary, dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, possession of cannabis and theft of motor vehicle.
