THE Ilmington Morris Men again danced at the most spectacular sunrise for many years — as seen from Ilmington Downs, which, at 842ft above sea level, is the highest point in Warwickshire.

The village Morris side were well in their stride at 5.36am on Sunday morning, before making their way around the village and ending up at the Red Lion for breakfast at 8.30am.

They have been dancing for over 300 years and the current side have been dancing since 1974 — the longest continuous period in their history. There are around 18 members altogether.

However, they are now on the hunt for more active men to join their ranks.

Anyone interested in joining should call Paul Bryan on 07711 121210 or e-mail theflyingmorrisman@hotmail.com See www.stratford-herald.com for more pictures of the Ilmington Morris Men dancing on Sunday.
