COUGHTON Court was awash with yellow when it hosted the popular Daffodil Society National Show on 16th and 17th April.

The grounds of the National Trust property, which are managed by the Throckmorton family, erupts every year with bursts of vibrant colour and new life which marks the beginning of spring.

And the Daffodil Society showcased hundreds of members’ own exhibits, including new varieties, while our green fingered experts will be on hand to answer any questions.

The Daffodil Society was established in 1898 as a specialist society for all who are interested in the Genus Narcissus, more commonly known as the daffodil. Members of the society include keen gardeners, horticultural and gardening societies, professional growers, botanists and enthusiastic flower show exhibiters.

Abi Cole, Marketing and Events Officer at Coughton, said: “The display of daffodils in the gardens always marks the arrival of spring for the team here at Coughton Court.

“The Daffodil Society National Show is the perfect way to celebrate the beautiful gardens we have here at the Court and in particular the variety of daffodils which are scattered throughout the grounds.

“Daffodils are a welcome sight in most people’s gardens and are possibly the most popular of all garden plants.

“Modern hybrids exhibited at the festival came in a variety of colours and sizes from pure white and pale pink to bright orange and cream.”
