Pamper day provides a boost for hospital appeal
A team of therapists treated members of the public to a relaxing pamper day at Stratford’s Arden Hotel to raise money for the Stratford Cancer and Eye Hospital appeal last month.
Hosted by Pat Petty, a radiographer at Warwick Hospital who lives in Stratford, the pamper day raised around £850 for the appeal as people enjoyed sports massages, reflexology, manicures, Rosen, Indian head massages and much more.
Jenny Farrell, chair of the Stratford Hospital Community Fundraising Committee, said: “The girls who did the treatments are all independent therapists and they offered their services for free for the whole day. They are just stars, they are typical of the many kind-hearted people in Stratford who have helped make the hospital appeal so successful.
“All the therapy slots during the day were fully booked out, from 9am- 5pm, lots of people came, it was very popular.
“I like to go along to as many of the fundraising events as I can, to offer support for those raising money. It was great seeing all the effort they put in, my only regret is that I didn’t have time to have a treatment myself.
“£850 is a very good amount to raise and it takes us ever nearer our £1million target.”
The event on 15 April was the second pamper day Pat has helped organise for the Stratford Cancer and Eye Hospital Appeal.
