Operation Snap seeks submitted digital footage of traffic offences

MEMBERS of the public are being urged to send police digital footage showing potential traffic offences, including driving dangerously or using a mobile phone while driving.

Warwickshire Police is one of a number of forces to sign up to Operation Snap.

It is making it possible for road users to report a range of offences using footage from dashcams or other devices.

They include overtaking on solid white lines, ignoring traffic lights or dangerous driving around other road users, such as horse riders and cyclists.

Each submission will be reviewed by one of the force's road traffic officers, who will decide whether to take action against the drivers who they deem to have committed an offence.
