Officers searching for missing Warwick man find human remains in Coventry
OFFICERS searching for Stefan Watkins, who has been missing from Warwick since May 2023, have found human remains in an area of Coventry.
Warwickshire Police said today (Tuesday) that the remains were discovered in Charterhouse Fields on Saturday (1st February) afternoon.
They have been forensically recovered and will be subject to a post-mortem examination in due course, the force added.
Formal identification of the remains has yet to take place, but Stefan’s next of kin and family have been told about the discovery.
The police announced last week that officers had been searching an area of Coventry as part of their investigations into the disappearance of 47-year-old Stefan.
He was reported missing on 23rd May, 2023, after not being seen for several weeks.
Det Insp Gareth Unett said last week that the force’s main line of enquiry “is that he may have come to harm”.
