SIZZLING sun, temperatures soaring and the chance for Stratford-upon-Avon to shine in this year’s Britain in Bloom but organisers have today, Monday, made the last minute announcement there will be no entry from the town in this year’s competition.

Judges from Britain in Bloom were due in town this Wednesday to be taken on a guided tour to assess Stratford’s entry in the Heart of England category.

It’s been three years since Stratford last entered Britain in Bloom which is now organised by The Royal Horticultural Society. Today’s cancellation has been described by Stratford in Bloom as a “blow for the town’s tourism and businesses.”
