VOLUNTEERS who help out at the Shipston air ambulance charity shop were thanked for the vital work they do by MP Nadim Zahawi when he visited the store recently.

Mr Zahawi was at the shop to help raise awareness and support national Volunteers’ Week.

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance receives no government funding and relies on the hard work of volunteers to keep it flying. Each lifesaving mission the helicopter flies costs £1,700.

As well as working in shops, air ambulance charity volunteers undertake a wide range of other tasks from supporting administration staff and organising fundraising events to giving talks on the work of the charity and organising tin collections.
