Motorcycle crash victim named by police

A motorcyclist who died following a crash between Southam and Ladbrook on Sunday has been named by police.

Geoff Thomas, 61, of Prestwood in Buckinghamshire had been travelling along the Banbury Road when his motorcycle left the carriageway and collided with a hedgerow just before 6:52pm.

An ambulance, paramedic support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance were dispatched to the incident but Mr Thomas was declared dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When crews arrived they found a man who had suffered multiple serious injuries. A number of members of the public were at the scene providing support.

“Ambulance staff immediately started assessing and treating the man, but sadly his condition worsened and despite all of the efforts made, it was not possible to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
