SIXTY fundraisers will be taking on a sizzling challenge to support local people with learning disabilities next month.

The Friends of Heart of England Mencap are hosting a Charity Firewalk on Saturday, 1st October, at the Home Guard Club in Tiddington between 6.30pm and 10pm.

Ten places are still available.

Those taking part will be given coaching by the experts from Blaze Firewalking before walking bare foot across burning hot coals.

It has been organised by Karen Rousell, chairman of the Friends of HofE Mencap.

She said: “We’re all very excited about the night and about doing something seemingly impossible. It is said to be an immensely empowering experience.”

Money raised will go to Stratford-based Heart of England Mencap, which is working across the local area to support people with learning disabilities.

To take part in the firewalk you need to pay a £20 deposit and commit to raising a further £80 minimum, either self-funded or through sponsorship.
