Man charged following robbery





MATTHEW Baines, aged 33 of Langcliffe Avenue, Warwick was charged on Friday 12th August with two counts of robbery, two counts of possession of a bladed/sharply pointed article in a public place and attempted robbery.

He appeared at Leamington Spa Magistrates Court on Saturday 13th August and has been remanded in custody until 15th September 2016.

It follows an incident at a post office in Barford on 5th August 2016 and an incident at a post office in Bishops Itchington on 9th August 2016.

*A 21 year-old man, a 23 year-old man, a 25 year-old man, a 29 year-old man and a 32 year-old man, all from the Leamington Spa area have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and have been bailed until September. A 35 year-old man from Warwick has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is currently in custody.
