Male from Shipston convicted of burglary




ON 6 October a Stratford District Council CCTV operator located a vehicle in Shipston-on-Stour that was of interest to Shipston Police Safer Neighbourhood Team. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and driver based on the CCTV information.

A 37-year-old male from Shipston was found to be driving the vehicle and he was arrested on suspicion of burglary to a church and adjoining residential property in West Street, Warwick.

The burglary had occurred between 25 and 27 September with an amount of collection money stolen. Following interview the male was remanded in to police custody and appeared magistrates in Leamington on 7th October.

Magistrates imposed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. Orders for £230 of costs and compensation were put in place along with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
