Lifesaving defibrillator installed at school





A lifesaving defibrillator has been installed at a Stratford School thanks to a huge community fundraising effort.

St Andrew's C of E Primary School in Shottery decided to fundraise for the defibrillator in 2015, with an aim to get the whole community involved with the project.

Pupils rallied to the cause with a series of non-uniform days and cake sales raising much needed cash, while letters were written to local residents and groups to enlist their support.

A flood of donations followed and the school was not only able to purchase a defibrillator bit also its battery and pads and a weather-proof lockable box.

The equipment has been installed on the school’s perimeter fence, complete with its own electricity supply, meaning the whole community can benefit f
