Let It Glow on moonlight walk

THE Shakespeare Hospice’s annual moonlit walk will have a neon glow this year.

Let It Glow, as the walk has now be named, takes place on Saturday, 4 June, leaving The Welcombe Hotel at 9.30pm, with circular routes of 5km or 10km around Stratford-upon-Avon town centre.

There will be live music and a warm-up beforehand, plus goodies, including popcorn and candyfloss, along the route.

Walkers are being asked to pledge a minimum of £20.16 sponsorship to secure a place – a figure set because of 2016 being an extra special year in Stratford, with it marking the 400 anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

Hospice bosses said £20.16 was enough to fund two workbooks for children who have lost a family member to help them share their experiences and remember their loved one, or lunch for four Hospice patients, cooked by the in-house chef in line with any special dietary requirements.

The walk is sponsored by the Welcombe Hotel and Everyone Active, which runs Stratford Leisure Centre.
