Lawyers saddle up for 3,700 mile cycling relay

A TEAM of cyclists from Stratford-upon-Avon law firm Lodders are to take on the final leg of a six-week marathon relay bike ride around the UK.

The bike ride will take in 170 locations along a 3,700-mile journey across the length and breadth of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

James Spreckley, Alastair Frew and David Lodder, from Lodders, will pick up the baton early on the 31st July, and take it on the final 15-mile leg of the challenge from Stratford-upon-Avon to its finish at the NFU headquarters at Stoneleigh Park.

The ride is organised by the Grain and Feed Trade Association and UK Grain and Feed Trade Associations.

It started on the 20th June outside the Houses of Parliament and is The aiming to raise £100,000 for the Farming Community Network (FCN).

The charity supports the farming community through times of stress, anxiety and depression.

Over 6,000 people each year benefit from FCN’s support, delivered by a team of 400 volunteers, many of whom are involved in farming, work with farmers, and support them as they seek to help with their difficulties.

Mr Spreckley, a partner and head of the rural team at Lodders, explains: “FNC provides a support network which is so vital for those members of the farming community who are really struggling. This bike ride will raise vital funds for the charity’s essential work.”
