Ken Kennett Centre officially re-opened
The grand re-opening of Stratford’s Ken Kennett Centre was held last week, heralding the start of a new era for the community venue.
The centre had faced imminent closure, but £40,000 has now been invested at the site adding new windows, flooring, kitchen, toilet facilities and making other improvements.
Jason Fojtik, chairman of the Clopton Community Action Group, which led the refurbishment project, said: “There was a really good turnout, loads of supporters came out and many have already said they are planning to hire the centre.
“The reaction to the refurbishment was very positive, it’s a much bigger, brighter and more open space then it was before, a much more vibrant welcoming space that people will enjoy going to.
“We’ve already held our first booking and we’ve got a number of others secured already, the centre is going to be in use practically every day which is fantastic news.”
