In2Theatre follow the Pied Piper to the Bear Pit
The haunting tunes from the Pied Piper echoed around the Bear Pit in Stratford last weekend in a joyous production by the players of In2Theatre, the drama group for vulnerable adults.
Founded in 2006, the group reminded the theatre’s audience what they have been missing during the pandemic and treated them to a lively adaption of Robert Browning’s famous poem.
Music, dance and the usual full commitment were the ingredients to the production which also gave a twist to the familiar story.
Ridding the town of rats and failing to receive the payment owed from the townsfolk of Hamelin, the Piper takes his revenge by captivating the children with his melodious tunes and leading them out of the town, never to be seen again.
But this is In2Theatre, and they wouldn’t leave their audiences without feeling good, so Hamelin raised the money and found the Piper, who restored the children to the townsfolk, for the perfect happy ending.
