In this week's Herald ...

As election fever swept through the town and district we were there in the thick of it and in this week’s Herald we have a special three-page round-up of all the ballot-box action.

The town was also revved up this week when magnificent motors from all eras took to the streets for the Stratford Festival of Motoring – our award-winning photographer Mark Williamson was there to bring you a special photo spread.

Among other highlights our arts correspondent Gill Sutherland caught up with none other than Joan Bakewell in Clifford Chambers.

Our editor Richard Howarth also confessed to bygone dreams of being a rock star, whilst interviewing the real thing on the local music scene, Jon Bird, who has just released a new CD.
