Horse pulled from river

TENNY, a 14-year-old horse, is now safe and sound and re-united with its owner after it slipped into the River Avon at Clifford Chambers.

A fire crew from Stratford-upon-Avon attended the scene yesterday afternoon, Sunday, which began when Tennyb (pictured) losts its grip on a steep embankment and ended up in the river.

The horse's owner had access to a small digger and managed to create some steps which were sufficient to lead Tenny out of the river with the help of the fire crew.

The incident was reported at 16.49.
