Henley restaurant passes to new owners

A POPULAR pizza and pasta restaurant in Henley is changing hands after 17 years.

Gamal and Maria Rosa Al-Hamati, who have owned and run La Dolce Piazza since 2006, are moving to Sicily to be nearer their family.

The couple’s last day in charge of the High Street eatery will be May 27.

The new owners plan to keep the restaurant name and stick to the existing menu, with a few tweaks, after having had an intensive course with Maria-Rosa.

In a social media post to customers, Gamal and Maria Rosa wrote: ‘We have met so many people from around the world and from different walks of life.

‘We also have made wonderful friends along the way. We will miss you all. Hopefully some of you will still keep in touch. Nevertheless we will miss seeing you all.

‘We are so happy to have found such wonderful new owners and we cannot be more pleased to pass our legacy to the right people. so please show them all the love and support as you have showed us.’
