Headteachers speak out over school funding





Headteachers across the district are calling for urgent improvements to school funding amid concerns that children are being let down and standards may fall.

Last week Steve Jefferies, headteacher at Henley High School, joined around 2,000 headteachers from around the country as they protested outside Downing Street on the issue.

Worries about funding are nothing new for local schools, with ten secondary school headteachers in the district writing to Stratford MP Nadhim Zahawi last year warning that the Conservative’s pre-election pledge of an extra £4billion towards education was insufficient.
