Pulling pints raised £2,000 for charities in Wellesbourne

CHEERS! The pints were pulled until the 15 guest beers on tap ran out, which meant that the seventh Wellesbourne Beer Festival was the most successful so far.

Beer glasses were raised throughout the two-day event and so was money for charity – grand total of £2,000 will be donated to Hastings House Medical Centre and Wellesbourne Community Cares, which provides sport facilities in the village.

David Johnston, one of the festival organisers, said: “There was a big turnout and we had beers from North Cotswold Brewery in Stretton-on-Fosse. The organising team will meet in a couple of weeks to donate the money and then we’ll start planning next year’s festival which will be before the bank holiday weekend.”
