A WASPS' nest over 2ft wide has been removed from a property in Armscote.

It measured 2ft 6in in width and was discovered in a storage cupboard in the roof space of the property.

Andy Deeks, pest control officer at Stratford-on-Avon District Council, said it had been made by German Wasps and would have held several thousand wasps.

“Wasps can and do build their nests inside houses," Andy said.

"We have treated wasp nests in bedroom cupboards, lofts and many surprising locations, but this is definitely the largest nest that I have ever had to deal with.”
