Game Fair at Ragley Hall this weekend

THE Game Fair returns to the familiar surroundings of Ragley Hall, near Alcester this weekend from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st July.

Now in its 58th year, the fair celebrates all things to do with the Great British countryside and the summer.

Star attractions include a Bear Grylls Survival Zone and culinary delights from television celebrity chef Gregg Wallace.

There are also [plenty of countryside pursuits to enjoy like clay shooting, archery, gundog scurries, fishing, falconry, ferreting and equestrian.

Artisan food and drink, shopping and craft stalls and camping and glamping facilities are also on offer.

Harry Hertford, the 9th Marquess of Hertford and owner of Ragley Hall, said: “It is magnificent event and we are of course delighted to be hosting it again.”

Police are urging motorists to plan their journeys carefully during this weekend's Game Fair in order to avoid delays and reduce congestion on the roads. The event is the largest of its kind to be held in Europe, and is expected to attract 120,000 visitors and 15,000 vehicles per day.

The intention is to keep the majority of show traffic on four main arterial routes that serve the area to the north, south, east and west of the site and then feed the vehicles into the car parks located at Ragley Hall.

Vehicle Message Signs advising motorists of the show will be used on local roads with signage detailing directions to the show and any diversion routes in place.
