Four to go on trial for murder

THE trial of four people charged with the murder of a 36-year-old man in Stratford-upon-Avon is set to begin today, Wednesday.

Tristram Wallace died on 22nd June near his home in Arden Street following an assault in the late afternoon.

Neil Potter, of Clopton Road, Stratford; Peter Mallon, and Tony Jelf, both of no fixed address; were charged with murder in June, while Donna Windsor, of no fixed address, was charged with the same offence in September.

Another woman, Florence Caines, was not charged with murder but pleaded guilty to a charge of theft relating to the same incident at an earlier hearing. She will be sentenced at the end of the trial.

The trial at Birmingham Crown Court is expected to last for six weeks.
