Former Chipping Campden student Sebastiaan James-Kraan, 20, tragically died in hospital three days after being shot in west London on 9th June
A former Chipping Campden School student has been remembered by his family as a “gentle giant with a heart of pure gold” after he was killed in London earlier this month.
Sebastiaan James-Kraan, 20, tragically died in hospital three days after being shot on Sunday, 9th June.
The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation following Sebastiaan’s death.
Police were called at around 2.10am on Sunday, 9th June, to a shooting in Templeman Road, Ealing.
Officers found Sebastiaan with life-threatening gunshot injuries. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, but sadly died on Wednesday, 12th June.
A post-mortem examination later found he had died from gunshot injuries.
Homicide detectives are now leading the investigation and specialist forensic work has been carried out at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: "At this early stage in the investigation, we believe the victim was involved in an altercation with a group of men, resulting in the victim being shot once.”
Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, in charge of policing in the Ealing area, said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim and my officers are doing everything to support the murder investigation.”
Both Sebastiaan, who is known as Bas, and his older brother, Felix, attended Chipping Campden School. Their mum Tabitha runs a hair salon in the town.
A statement from the family said: "Sebastiaan James-Kraan was cruelly taken away from his family at such a young age. "He was a kind, loving, gentle man with a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. A gentle giant with a heart of pure gold.
