Flash flooding in Stratford

A TORRENTIAL ten-minute rain storm lashed Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday afternoon and caused widespread flooding of roads in the town.
The storm, which was accompanied by thunder, came out of the blue and was preceded by an increasingly dark sky. In its wake, roads like Tiddington Road near The Alveston Manor Hotel and parts of Bridgetown in Stratford were temporarily flooded.
At its peak the storm pelted Stratford with both heavy rain and hailstone and overwhelmed roadside drains before easing off ten minutes after it started.
