Firework fun for all the family this weekend

THE night sky will be lit up this weekend for the annual celebration of Bonfire Night across Stratford-upon-Avon and surrounding towns and villages.

Bonfire night holds a special place in the autumn itinerary of festivities with fireworks, sparklers and jacket potatoes all firm favourites for people of all ages.

In the run-up to Bonfire Night, Warwickshire County Council's Fire and Rescue Service are calling on local people to keep safe by going to an organised fire work event, rather than doing your own bonfire.

Stratford’s big bonfire night takes place on Sunday 6th November at Pearcecroft, Loxley Road, home of Stratford Rugby Club.

The bonfire is lit for 6pm with a dazzling display of fireworks set to music taking place at 7pm. Gates are open at 5pm and there is also a wide range of other attractions available to make for a sparkling November night including a barbeque, licensed bar and stalls.

The Bell at Alderminster is hosting a bonfire and fireworks evening in aid of the Stratford Hospital appeal tonight, Friday 4th November. The free, family friendly event will start at 6pm and guests will enjoy a fireworks display, as well as live music from The Rock Bottoms.

Alcester Rugby Club is the venue for the town’s bonfire and firework party tonight, Friday from 6.30pm. The bonfire is lit at 7.30pm with fireworks from 8pm.

Shipston’s fireworks take place tonight, Friday at Shipston Sports and Social on the London Road. Gates open at 6pm, the bonfire is lit at 7pm with fireworks at 7.30pm.

Snitterfield Sports Club is the setting for a Bonfire Night special on Saturday, gates open at 5.30pm with fireworks to come later.

Bidford’s Big Bonfire on The Meadow takes place on Saturday when gates open at 6pm, bonfire will be lit at 6.45pm and fireworks at 7.15pm.

First Henley and Wootton Scout Group are hosting a bonfire and firework night on Saturday at Henley Playing Fields , Stratford Road, Henley. Gates open at 6pm, the bonfire is lit at 6.30pm and the firework display is at 7.15pm.

The annual firework spectacular at the Kineton Primary School will take place on Saturday - gates open at 5.30pm and the bonfire will be lit shortly afterwards.

Big crowds are expected at Warwick Town Bonfire at Warwick Racecourse on Saturday. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm by the Mayor Cllr Christine Cross.

ST James’ and Ebrington Primary School Chipping Campden is hosting its annual fireworks display, with music and refreshments. Held at Chipping Campden recreation ground the gates will open at 6pm on Saturday.

There is a bonfire and fireworks display in the grounds of Loxley Hall, Loxley, on Saturday 5th November – gates open at 6pm.

There will also be a bonfire and fireworks night at Mansell Farm, Armscote Road, Newbold on Saturday. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm with fireworks at 7pm.
