Firefighters tackle large woodland fire at Little Wolford

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a major woodland fire at Little Wolford, near Shipston, on Sunday.

Eleven Warwickshire fire engines were sent along with one from Gloucestershire Fire Service to deal with the incident at a farm on Little Wolford Road at around 2.15pm.

The fire initially started in the farm baler, but quickly spread to fields and surrounding woodland. Firefighters worked quickly to prevent the spread and protect nearby premises.

Warwickshire Fire Control recalled emergency staff to duty to assist with ongoing support of the incident.
